On August 2nd, 2021, Portuguese TikToker posted a video of her grandparents sleeping in bed, attributing the snoring to her grandpa, captioned, "me sleeping at my grandmother's house" (shown below). This clip spread on China's social media shows one residential quarter in Chongqing, where someone forgot to turn off the loudspeaker used to inform residents about the latest on the coronavirus outbreak. Then added to this video." The source of the karaoke video is unknown. The audio was a girl recording her boyfriend’s snoring inside a karaoke booth. Some believe this video is fake, with Redditor Leevotion commenting on a share of the video to /r/China, "Believed to be a fake video. One hypothesis is that the sound is an edited snore taken from a February 6th, 2020 viral video, posted to Twitter, where a Chinese security guard allegedly fell asleep over a loudspeaker device, broadcasting his snores over Chongqing (shown below). The exact origin of the sound is unclear.
